Shroud Part 3 Walkthrough
Tier 3 - Frogger - Updated 12/15/2008

General Map:
Below you will find a map, showing the locations of the puzzles, where you can get water, and other various information.

Warnings:

- There are NO Monsters to fight here, feel free to take your armor off to avoid damage if you die.

- Lock picking skills are vital to this part, if you cannot complete your puzzles, the lock picker will need to let you out of your room so some-one else can get in and do it.  Knock does not cut it.

- The Rainbow!!  Always run clockwise around the outer edges once you are free from your room.  If the puzzles are not solved in a timely manner, a rainbow will appear, which travels clockwise around the outer edges of the map.  This rainbow, if touched, will kill you.  Typically a person will be calling its location from the safe room.  You are safe if you are in the center room of the map.  12 o'clock is N, 3 o'clock is E, 6 o'clock is S, 9 o'clock is W.  Corners it delays on, so as you see it enter a corner, WAIT, it goes straight away from you into the wall, disappears, the reappears horizontal going down the next hall a few seconds later. Allot of people do not wait, and move in as they see it disappear, only to have it reappear behind them and die.

-  Whirling blades that cannot be evaded in any way, travel around the outer edges of the map counter clockwise.  This is another good reason to run clockwise, if you are running at the same speed as a blade, it will induce significant damage on you.

- Do NOT break any of the crystals which are above the rooms you initially port into.  This will cause you to not obtain 2 extra chests.  There is a total of 4 chests on this part if you do not break those crystals.   The three crystals above the south center entrance to the safe area only, can be broken as soon as you get to it.

- When you get out of your room you initially port into, there will be yellow circle symbols on the ground.  Avoid running over these at all costs!!  It will cast Horrid Wilting on you, which will do significant damage to yourself, and surrounding party members.

!!Avoid These!!

Solving Puzzles:  There are 11 puzzles in total, 6 - 3x3, 2 - 4x4, 2 - 5x5, and 1 Octagon.  They look like the following:

If you cannot solve your puzzle, stand in front of the purple door, and wait for the lock picker to come get you out.

Puzzle Solver:

On The Web:  http://www.inthecore.com/ddo/puzzles/shroud/lights.html

Its also located in the crafting planner, it has its own tab!!  At the bottom of this page is a walkthrough on how to do the puzzles without a puzzle solver.

- Load the above page up, if you would like to take a shot at solving your own puzzle.

1)  Drop down and select the puzzle you've been placed in.

2)  Click on the Edit Button

3)  Click on the tiles, to light, or de-light them.  This should match what you are currently looking at.  It does not matter what side you choose, but again, it must be as if you are facing it.  The bottom of this puzzle, will be the closest edge to you in the direction you are facing it.  Make it match what you see.

4)  Now hit the Solve Button.  The small window with the ones will appear.  You must step on those 1's in order to solve it.  The order does not matter.

In this example, from the direction you are facing the puzzle, go up the right side to the second tile, step on it, and walk up 2 more tiles.  Go back to where you started, go up the left side to the second tile, step on it, and walk up 2 more tiles to solve the puzzle.

After your puzzle is solved, or you are let out, run to the south center of the map, so you can get into the safe room, and either heal up, or start running water.  The pool in the center of the safe room will slowly, ever so slowly, give you HP and SP.  This is usually reserved for casters, to get their SP back, the healers can heal you much faster than this pool can.  No more than 2 people should be in the pool at once.  Jumping up and down in the pool tends to get your SP/HP back faster.

Running Water:  After a puzzle is finished, and ONLY AFTER a puzzles is finished, should you place water in the small statue within the puzzle room.

- You obtain water from the center of the map, you get there via the south center portion of the map.  The large stone facial statue spitting water into a pool is what you need to double mouse click on (aka use).  You will see text come up stating you obtained a vile of water.  You can only carry 1 vial of water at a time.

- After obtaining your water vial, run clockwise around the outer edge of the map, looking for a complete puzzle room, that has a small statue head which is not gushing water.  Double click/use the head, and you will place the vile of water in it, causing water to flow.  If you see a complete puzzle room with water flowing already, just ignore it and look for another.

Completion:  You complete this portion by solving all the puzzles, and delivering water to every solved puzzle room.

Solving Puzzles without Puzzle Solver:

While the solvers nice to have, due to several people not able to use it I came up with a way to solve it quicker just using a few tricks and a small chart. For anyone new to the puzzle, each one you hit also swaps the ones next to it vertically and horizontally (and for the circle one, diagonally as well).

Each puzzle you want to "Solve up" first. Choose a side to start on and consider that the bottom row, (don't touch that row just yet). Hit the ones you need to on the next row up to light the entire bottom row. Then use the 3rd row up to light up the second, etc. When you finish using the top row to light up the next one down, see what's missing and on the top row and check the charts below. Hit what it says to in the top row. Then solve back down (eg using the 2nd row down to finish lighting up the top row, hit 3rd row to finish 2nd, etc). By the time you get back to the bottom row and light up the one above it, everything will be lit.

3x3
Mirrored
, , or Do not need to hit anything on top, solve down.

Non-Mirrored
, Hit both corners on the top row, then solve down.

4x4
Solved (Top row will always be completed by the time you finish using it to light the next row down).

5x5
This the only one that really needs a chart. Check what the top row looks like, and hit the ones listed after (1 is far left, 5 is far right).

Hit 4. Solve down.
Hit 1. Solve down.
Hit 1 and 2. Solve down.
Hit 3. solve down.
Hit 1, 2, and 3. Solve down.
Hit 2. Solve down.
Hit 5. Solve down.

Circle
Same general rules apply. Consider it 4 rows as far as solving up/down is concerned.
Hit 1. Solve down.
Hit 2. Solve down.
Hit 1 and 2. Solve down.
